Terms of Use

Important: These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. This document should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional before enforcement.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Eduko.ai platform ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform.

The Platform is operated by Eduko.ai on behalf of Client University, Karachi, Pakistan. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("the User") and Eduko.ai ("we", "us").

2. Eligibility

The Platform is available to:

  • Students currently enrolled in the MBBS programme or other recognised programmes at Client University.
  • Faculty members and clinical supervisors appointed by Client University.
  • Administrative staff authorised by Client University to manage the Platform.

Access is granted through institutional accounts created by University administrators or via official invitation links. You must not share your account credentials with any other person.

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
  • You must immediately notify your University administrator or Eduko.ai if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating or updating your profile.
  • You must not create multiple accounts or use another person's account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any purpose other than educational activities associated with Client University.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform, other users' accounts, or the underlying infrastructure.
  • Upload, transmit, or distribute any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable under Pakistani law.
  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, or other means to access, extract, or manipulate Platform data.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation, servers, or networks.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform's software.
  • Use the Platform in any manner that violates the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016 or any other applicable Pakistani law.

5. Academic Integrity

The Platform is designed to support genuine learning. You agree to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity:

  • You must complete all quizzes, assessments, and examinations independently unless explicitly stated otherwise.
  • You must not share quiz questions, answers, or assessment content with other students.
  • You must not use unauthorised aids, tools, or assistance during timed assessments.
  • You must not attempt to manipulate your scores, PDU balance, streak records, or leaderboard rankings through any deceptive means.
  • Violations of academic integrity will be reported to Client University's disciplinary committee and may result in suspension or permanent removal from the Platform.

6. Intellectual Property

  • Platform software: the Eduko.ai platform, including its design, code, features, and user interface, is the intellectual property of Eduko.ai and is protected under applicable intellectual property laws of Pakistan.
  • Course content: all educational content (lectures, notes, images, videos, quiz questions) published on the Platform is the intellectual property of Client University and/or the respective faculty members who created it.
  • Restrictions: you may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, or create derivative works from any Platform content without prior written permission from the respective rights holder.
  • Medical imaging: any DICOM images or clinical imaging data made available through the Platform are provided solely for educational purposes. All patient identifiers are removed in compliance with medical ethics standards.

7. Medical Disclaimer

The content on this Platform is for educational purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information accessed through this Platform.

Eduko.ai and Client University do not assume any responsibility for any injury, loss, or damage incurred as a result of any use or reliance upon the educational content provided on the Platform. Clinical decisions must always be made under the supervision of qualified healthcare professionals.

8. User-Generated Content

Faculty and administrators may upload educational content to the Platform. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have the right to upload and distribute the content.
  • The content does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • The content does not contain any unlawful, defamatory, or harmful material.
  • Any patient data or clinical images have been fully anonymised in accordance with medical ethics standards and applicable Pakistani regulations.

You grant Client University and Eduko.ai a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute the uploaded content within the Platform for educational purposes.

9. Platform Availability

We strive to keep the Platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Platform may be temporarily unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance (we will provide advance notice where possible).
  • Emergency security updates.
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including internet outages, natural disasters, or government actions.

We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from Platform unavailability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Pakistan:

  • The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • Eduko.ai shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Platform shall not exceed the fees paid by Client University to Eduko.ai for the Platform in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

  • By the Institution: Client University may deactivate your account at any time if you are no longer enrolled or employed at the University, or if you violate these Terms.
  • By us: Eduko.ai reserves the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform if you breach these Terms, engage in academic dishonesty, or engage in activities that threaten the security or integrity of the Platform.
  • Effect of termination: upon termination, your access to the Platform will be revoked. Academic records will be retained by the Institution in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
  • Any dispute arising from or related to these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.
  • If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.
  • Nothing in these Terms shall prevent either party from seeking injunctive or other equitable relief from a court of competent jurisdiction.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via an in-app notification and update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction in Pakistan, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable.
